After getting myself in an anxious pickle W6R3 is in the bag!

I had found the previous two runs quite tough - longer sessions incorporating local hills were a demoralising challenge. However, last night’s Yoga with Adriene class was entitled ‘Yoga for Self Doubt’. NOW she was talking. Adriene spoke of how much energy is used up by worrying - and suggested channelling that energy into the task instead... She also told us, that when we doubt ourselves, we must remind ourselves that we are strong. Coincidentally, yesterday was International Women’s Day... and I was quite taken with the idea of being a strong woman. Today during my run, when I my energy wavered, I reminded (kidded?!!!) myself that I was strong. And I’m not sure how it worked, but 60 seconds before the end, when Jo suggested speeding up if possible, I realised there was enough life in my legs to do just that... So I’ve learned a lesson today (not quite sure what yet - apart from a breathable top REALLY helps - but I know I did!!). 😊

Well, if that was kidding yourself, sounds worth a try! Well done. So much of running is in the mind. Who knew? 😄👍

Thank you - I read somewhere on this forum that the mind is ready to give up when the body is only 40% used up!! I think that stayed with me!!

Fantastic! Well done, mindset is everything, especially with running. Sounds like you (and Adriene) did a great job 👏👏👏

I’m slowly incorporating Yoga with Adriene into my life, have done a few sessions now. I really like them n I love the post-run session sooo much! Thanks so much for introducing me to her😊

Thank you... and that’s so funny, because one of Adriene’s most used phrases is, ‘You’ve got this’... are you a secret yogi?!!!

Yes do 🏋🏼‍♀️! I’ve got a lot of time for Adriene - and I think the Yoga for Post Run session is seven minutes particularly well-spent!! X
