Busier than usual river run

So many people out with even more dogs! I’m assuming that it’s people on Easter breaks from work, though only one man had a child with him 🧐

I like to think I could have maintained the pace at which I set out, but as it was I got incrementally slower as I had to pause more and more often to change direction. If you’re reading one of my posts for the first time, it’s not that I don’t like dogs - I had 2 with me myself - it’s more that I was worried about getting tripped up by mass dog play sessions happening right in front of me on the path 🤦‍♀️

As it was, I did 5k in 44:51.

There are so many people around, I went to my local park the other day and it was swamped, I think it is more the weather than it bringing them out in droves. I often have to run around playing dogs, I’m a big softy when they come to say hello. 😀.

I am a softy for them too, just far more wary of getting knocked over since breaking my wrist.

I’m not surprised after that. I broke my arm when I was 7 running downstairs I still take it easy on stairs. 😀. It stays with us to protect ourselves. Take care. Rfc x

Sounds tricky trying to dodge the dogs! Easy to lose your rhythm when focusing on dogs and having to change direction. I had to slow to a walk yesterday and stopped because of a horse. Squiggly gets worried and sometimes barks. I wasn't expecting to see a horse because we weren't on a bridleway!

Oh. Were you okay?

Merlin is a total nightmare around horses with riders, which is a problem when you live near a livery stable like we do 🤦‍♀️ There’s a run that would be great for him but goes through the stables, and I’m very wary of doing it with him on my own.

Yes, we were fine. Squiggs walked past quietly on a short lead but when I stopped to talk to the lady he did a sort of whine/woof! He is worse when horses are being ridden, luckily the lady was leading the horse.
