Morning everyone. Just reading up on a recent post about a running meet up in the south, and it's reminded me to plug my Manchester-area meet-up plan. Details here:
- you don't have to be friends with me on the forum to come along and join the meet
- we don't run together so all abilities and speeds welcome. Best for those later in the programme so you don't get tempted to overdo it (but parkrun is for everyone!).
Next one is Sale Water Park on 11th May - an exception to the first week rule due to a request.
Happy running!

Well, I will be there - just as well because I requested the change of date!
I have done Sale Water as a Freedom Run soon after it started. It is a nice course, a there and back, mainly flat but in places a bit rough due to broken bricks which are presumably there to stop the mud when wet. Just take those bits slowly.
It is another one to be added to my "places I have lived" parkrun challenge.
For newbies to parkrun, a Freedom Run is where you run the course and enter your time on your parkrun profile. It doesn't count officially, just a bit of fun.
Take a spare barcode along in case you need to park in the overflow parking. An extract from the course page:
"Please try to park outside the Mersey Valley Visitors Centre first, and if this is full, use the Metrolink park and ride car park. If parking in Metrolink you must display a parkrun barcode in your windscreen and leave before 10:30am. Please do not park outside Trafford Water Sports Centre"
We now keep spare barcodes im both vehicles because some National Trust properties have the same arrangement.
