So I’d been looking forward to this run since achieving week5r3. However after a morning at work I went home with a very poorly tummy and disoriented head. After a while (no gory details) I had a sleep and awoke with determination not to be beaten. What’s to lose? If I didn’t succeed today I could try again tomorrow.
So for the first half, with every step a shooting pain ran from my waist to my groin and I feared I may have made a big mistake. But then part way through the 8min run it started to subside and despite the continued washed out and heavy feeling I made it to the end. To top it all my speed and distance, although I know are not important, were better than ever! Hopefully I’ll be back to full strength for run2.

Well done to you Rosiepug on persevering on running run 1 of week 6 despite your pain in your waist to the groin, that was very brave of you, just hope all that pain will be gone by the time you do W6R2 which is the last run with interval walks and runs, perhaps take a few extra days off before running it.
Good job Rosiepug. it is worth taking some electrolytes on board if you had a poorly stomach. They dont taste great but do you the world of good. my tip, is lots of little sips and dont eat/drink anything else until the electrolyte drink is consumed as this will help you get used to the salty taste. oh and keep stirring else it gets really salty at the end. yuk!
Well done Rosiepug on pushing through! Just completed w6r3 this morning and after a great wk5r3 found this a slog but I’ve done it - we’ve done it. 🏃♀️😃 Go us! and everyone else whatever run You’re on this week.
Having looked at some of the comments on the forum I think I didn’t hydrate enough yesterday - result sore calf muscle. Going to pay attention to that going forward. Might be something worth thinking about for you as you’ll have lost fluids if you were sick. Good luck with wk6 but I know you’ll smash it. 🏃♀️😃
