Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

Enjoy your journey.
Hi alexw1990. This plan is not about speed or pace despite the title. The aim at week 9 is to run for 30 minutes 3 times a week. Most people at week 9 won't be running 5k. The main target is to complete each run of the plan without suffering from fatigue or injury. The question on here is are you running slow enough! Good luck and enjoy your running
Don't worry about your speed. You will also notice that you need to slow down as the runs get longer anyway. I really sulked about going slower every week, it really bothered me but just relax and enjoy. When you graduate you can think more about speed but for now be very happy with yourself at your achievements!
It doesn’t matter. What does matter is that you run rather than walk. The difference between running and walking is gait, not speed. If your foot leaves the ground before your other foot has landed, you’re running. If not, you’re walking.
Think about speed (if you want to) after graduation. At the moment your objective is to build up sufficient endurance to run non stop for 30 minutes. When you can do that (in two or three months’ time) all sorts of other options will open up to you. One thing at a time though. Learn to run first.
Ignore the speed, embrace the 🐌 in you!!
