Sooo I signed up today, never been a runner. Had a cancer diagnosis in July last year so I’m now doing race for life 5k in June.

And I’ve got to say I really enjoyed the first run! That much so I did it twice with an hours break in between,

Well done for starting, I graduated today. Been running since January 2nd. It’s such a rollercoaster but you will get the best sense of satisfaction when you achieve each week. Don’t get disheartened, some runs are horrible but just keep going! Use the forum to vent and boast! Rest in between runs too. 🏃‍♀️ 😊

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Please stick to the plan. As a new runner you are probably much more susceptible to injury than you realise, even if you are otherwise fit. Rest days between runs are crucial.

Enjoy your journey.

You are doing the best thing ever by embarking on the programme to keep body and mind active and focused. Good luck with the Race for Life and don’t forget to rest in between run days 🙂
