Hi there. I'm new(ish) to Couch to 5k - I just completed my run 1 of week 2 this morning. Typically I'm someone who hates exercise but I'm really enjoying this concept so far. I'm doing this in combination with weight watchers so I'm hoping to reap the benefits of getting up at 5.30am for the runs (I'm at the point where I'd be mortified if anyone saw me!) and if not I'm going to stuff my face with cake!!

Does it get easier as it goes on? And does anyone actually properly run? I kind of do a steady jog.

Welcome to one of the best things ever... :)

Early morning runs are wonderful... who cares if anyone sees you..? If they stare....they are either jealous or runners too..stuck on the IC , like me and having to just do walks currently!

It does not necessarily get easier... BUT.......you get stronger, with every single run! Good news eh?

Do some other exercise on rest days too, to build up your core strength and your stamina!

Listen to your body and do not be tempted to push too hard! Healthy eating regime and this programme.. Perfick!

Keep posting too for great support and motivation :)

Hello! This is the first time I've ever tried running & this programme is really fantastic. I can't say I love doing exercise & find most runs a struggle but the feeling of achievement makes it all worthwhile. Don't worry about speed, distance or what you look like (I must look a right sight!). I haven't lost much weight because I think its turning to muscle but I really have toned up. It does get easier.Keep going, be proud of yourself. If you're not already, then you will very soon be a 'proper' runner! 😃

You just jog slowly. Slowly, slow, slower! The great thing about this prog is that you do it better if you keep things steady.

I am a WW too. Both are for life, not just for Christmas 😃💪🏃‍♀️👍✔️

Thank you for the replies everyone - good, practical advice there and BIG apologies for that massive picture of myself. I thought I was uploading a profile pic which was going to shrink. Doh. I can't see a way of removing it from the post unless anyone can enlighten me.
