I started off on this crazy journey back in November. Started off really well and was enjoying the first few weeks off the programme - ran/walked my first proper Park Run on Christmas Day (with Santa hat) and all was looking good. I finished W5R3! Then in January I had a severe chest infection which lasted nearly a month and put me back to square one. Rather than start at the beginning of the programme my pride convinced me to pick it up from Week 5 which was far too much - my knees and hips were killing me. So, back to the beginning I went and built it up gradually and yesterday I ran all the way round the Coventry park run (took longer than 30 mins btw) and for the first time it felt really good! So stick at it! I'm happy I did and my plan now is to run mid week and then PR each Saturday... I'll maybe think about the Bridge to 10K later in the year. Maybe. I started this madness to try and keep up with my partner... all was going well with that plan until she signed up for and subsequently ran her first Half a few weeks ago. I am resigned to never keeping up but shall certainly enjoy our short runs together!
