Hi

I’m currently on week 5 and loving it 😊. Can anyone give me some advice on running shoes? I want to buy a good pair and have been looking at Nike Pegasus but the new ones are very expensive. I would rather pay for quality but don’t want to be ripped off either! Any recommendations would be great. Thanks

Pegasus Zoom 35 are indeed excellent running shoes... but they may not suit your footfall. The best thing to do is go to your local specialist running store for gait analysis. After that you will have a small selection of shoes suitable for you, the most comfortable of which is your best shoe.

Once you know what shoe that is, you may be able to find it online cheaper, or it may be a bargain in the store already.

Those Nike’s I have bought for under £60... there’s tons of colour combinations and wildly varying prices for the same shoe... currently one colour combo in the men’s shoe is £55 on sports direct.

I have two words for you... Gait Analysis.

Before looking at specific shoes it’s recommended to have a gait analysis done to work out what types of shoes you need. This will help you avoid injuries and problems. It will also save you money in the long run - Buy Once, Buy Well!

Reebok is quite good for running. I found also that when I wear a good quality, sport and thick socks is making difference in make my foot comfortable while running!!

As others have advised, go for gait analysis then choose from the selection that suit your gait and running style. I have always worn Brooks - Ghost is a neutral shoe and the Adrenaline is a shoe for runners who pronate (I have both and alternate). You'll know when you have the right shoe - feels just right, good luck!
