Wk4r2 tommorow and already know I need better running shoes the 1s I bought at the start of doing the c25k are not the best now am out running more what's everybody's thoughts on the best shop to go for I was thinking decathlon which isn't to far from me and believe they do a gait test but not sure if that's just a gimmick and should just opt for a comfy neutral runnig shoe but I will need a decent trial shoe soon as I intend to do more of roading as my fitness improves too thanks in advance

The gait test is definitely not a gimmick it’s so they can see how you run and which running shoe is best for you. I had mine done in a running shop near where I live. It’s owned by father n son professional runners and showed me different priced trainers. Unfortunately due to health problems I’m still stuck on w3 after an extra 3 weeks.

It will be worth the journey to go somewhere that can do gait analysis.

The correct shoes make all the difference.👟👟

Go to an independent running shop. Decathlon will not have a suitable range of shoes. Also be prepared to spend just over £100, but the right shoe is worth it. I have mine 2 years now and I only wear them when running. It’s a worthwhile investment.
