I can't believe I feel so different after the second run of my first week. For anyone else who is a newbie and found the first run a challenge, don't be put off....
My face still looks like it has taken the stain out of a beetroot, but I completed the last two run sections this morning without having to push through them as I did on the first go.
Thank you DiscoRunner for the advice on the Japanese slow running technique. I'm a long way from getting it right, but it certainly made me think about how I'm placing my foot.
I’m only at W2R2 (completed this morning!) but I’m also amazed at how each run seems a bit “easier” than the previous (I’m hesitant to use the word “easier” but hopefully you get what I mean 😂). I’m trying to take each run as it comes and not think about the increases in running time further down the line.... and don’t tell anyone but I think I’m starting to enjoy it. A little bit 😳
I know what you mean about saying "easier", so I'm settling for "an improvement on last time" !!
The secret's out - I'm glad you're beginning to enjoy your running. It was a beautiful sunny morning run in the woods for me and that definitely made it feel good.
It is amazing isn't it? I was exactly where you are at the start of the year. I was mortified at the thought of being seen "pretending to run" and that first run was a real challenge. Now I trot off for 30-40 minutes 3 times a week, no worries. I've even started to ache less!
You will be flabbergasted every single week at how much better you feel and how much more you can achieve.
