Is this ok

I started couch to 5k yesterday. I only managed 4 runs out of the 8. My legs were like jelly. Today I just had a brisk walk for an hour. The dog is liking it. I hope I can manage more tomorrow.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum and C25K, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish, perhaps you ran too quickly, so when you restart run 1 of week 1 run slowly, hopefully you'll be able to complete all 8/1 minute runs.

Thank you I will retry it tomorrow. This last 4 year's my energy levels have got so low. My weight went up. So struggling with weight as well. I just hope I don't look stupid trying to run . 😟

No you will not look stupid when you run, just go out and run slow and steady. 😊

Jollyjoy10 If I can do it you jolly well can too. I was horribly self conscious when I started and wore a bandana around my lower face because it was cold? No, so people couldn't see my mouth open as I gasped goldfish like for breath. But by the fourth week the bandana was left in the drawer and I only have the odd tweek of self consciousness now and again. I find the best way for me is to stick a grin on my face as I approach walkers and their dogs on my route around the fields. Can't say hello as need to keep breathing, but always put my hand up to acknowledge them as I run past. With dodgy ankles and feet that do not bend as they should I run very slowly and have likened myself to a snail on pogo sticks. Whatever works for you - congratulations on getting out there. See you over the finishing line. SP

That is exactly the right thing to do. You’ll be surprised at how quickly for fitness level increases. Try watching this for an idea of slow and steady: google.com/url?sa=i&source=...

This is the same as me although managed 6 runs out of 8.. I’m going to stick to the routine of rest days run days im thinking it will help carve out routine with out worrying about not doing bits of it.. I’m hoping that in time completing it will happen... I’m running with you jollyjoy10 in mind xx

That's cool it's like having a run buddy. I'm off work this week holiday. So when I return next week will run a bit later. Today on our local run track I was joined by a bunch of school kids. I was a bit embarrassed but thought oh well at least I'm trying.

I’m fairly new to this too but one thing I know works is just slowing it down if things start to hurt! You’re doing brilliantly just to have started the programme - keep going, you won’t regret it!👏👏👏
