I had been hoping to do the Toulouse park run, but was forewarned of 'gilet jaune' demonstrations in Toulouse, so decided to give it a miss this time.
So I got up early today to do a 5k run from my hamlet. I am feeling very pleased with myself as I managed 5.28k and a couple of personal bests - 5k in 37:07 mins and 2 miles in 23:13. There are two inclines on this route too, which make it a bit more difficult, particularly for me. The run takes me across a ridge in a nearby hamlet, with stunning views on both sides, and today I also saw my first hoopoe of the season. Here's a photo of one, if the link works. They're amazing-looking birds.
Driving back to the UK tomorrow, where runs will be resumed in Suffolk. Hoping to meet up with other C25K folk at a Toulouse park run later in the year.
