I was very determined to always make sure I got out, even if the run was bad. Getting out was half the battle, as I saw it.
Tonight should have been w3r1 but my knees ache, I have a bad head cold, it’s raining and my husband is back late (which = me doing kids bedtime alone). Soooo... I’m throwing in the towel and feeling awful because of it.
It’s hard when you’re mentally eager to do it but everything else in life is lacking....

Listen to me Scallybrambles, you have had a bad day but that is no reason to stop running and give up on C25K. Give yourself a few days off and restart with week 3, or if you wish, week 2. Quite a few people have thought about giving up in the early stages of the program but have persevered and graduated a little later than planned.
Thank you AlMorr. My motivation is for mental health reasons as opposed to fitness so I feel frustrated with myself, as if I’m missing a dose of my medicine!!
I hope you mean just for tonight!! Tomorrow is a new day. You can do this. Have faith. If I can get to week 9 anyone can. If I had a head cold and it was raining I’d have said home. Get better soon and the pick it up again . You CAN do it
Don’t be hard on yourself! I completely skip running if it’s not the right weather outside or I’m under the weather. Tomorrow is another day there are always new moments perfect for that run x
Hey, be kind to you! Some days stuff just gets in the way. You're not making excuses. Your body is just saying hold up there this a bit of a shock to the system 😊 so if you need an extra couple of days rest then it's worth it in the long run. But you need to tell yourself right now that not running today was ok. I repeat, be kind to you x
You can do this. I had really painful knees on week three. I’ve ended up repeating week 3, three times. In the middle week I only did it twice as I didn’t want to to push my luck with my knees. It’s my last wk3 repeat today and I feel ready to move to week 4 on Monday. It’s tough but the sense of achievement each time I complete 30 minutes is worth it - YOU’RE WORTH IT! Do this at your own speed, just keep going. The benefits for physical and mental health are unquestionable. You’ve got this.
You shouldn't run when you're not well, it's counter-productive, so you are actually doing the sensible thing, even if only because the universe is conspiring against you. The running will be there waiting for you when you are better 👍
