As the title states, this is the first run that I’ve failed. I’m not surprised especially... a combination of not running for 10 days and travelling across from NYC up to Canada and all the way west across it, eating whatever the friends I’m staying with are eating and jet lag. However, the main killer today as I ventured out were the hills! I made it to 20 minutes and gave up, I’m not built for hills at home... you’d think the mountainous backdrop of British Columbia would have been a giveaway. Still, pleased I got out and did a bit - even if I underestimated the size of the “block” I was going to run around. I did a side and a bit and turned back, that took me to over 4 miles (much of it walked).

Sounds like a great trip! We don't like the 'F' word on here. Every run teaches you something. This one was a practice and next time you will complete it!

I wouldn't count it as a failure, the fact that you got out there during your travels when you coukd have made a reasonable excuse and not gone is a testament to your motivation. You'll get it next time no problem !
Defeat? Failed! You were up out, moving!

Its learning and I think most of us would find that run difficult with the 10 day run up you had. take it easy and you achieve success

Absolutely no failure. You are off the couch , and out there in the fresh air moving your body. There are fluctuations in how our bodies, feel . Keep going . Your a success. Xx
