Grass is a strange one... I run on it maybe 60% of my runs... it’s gentle on the joints but it saps energy so can feel tough in the early days. If you’re used to road and go grass then it could well leave you finishing on empty without going faster. Great job getting that run done!

My fastest pace has been on a track by some margin, but I love running on trails more... I don’t like pavements but am good with tarmac paths in parks.

I try running to a park, then on the grass as much as I can... just because it's easier on joints.

So prob 50/50.

I can’t do anything other than tarmac or pavements I struggle with softer surfaces as it Zapps my energy - so until I graduate and get some consolidation runs under my belt, I’m staying on a track x

My best run is any run I run... but I do love my trails and tracks and fields :)

I’ve just done this too and for some reason that extra 3 minutes nearly killed me! But it was very windy. I started on grass and after week 4 moved to road, partly because I had to drive to the grass (Park) while Road was outside the door and partly because the grass is uneven and a bit muddy and I had to be very careful not to trip. I find them equally hard!!

Most of the park and the disused railway line here have hardcore paths and they’re great - more giving than tarmac and never slippery like grass.
