W8R1: Running and grieving

My father passed away on Monday and I was afraid I would not be able to run yesterday. But W8R1 went really well. I ran in my old neighborhood and enjoyed recognizing my childhood friends' houses. I actually wanted to keep running. I have been reading Murakami and he says he stops running just when he want to keep going to save the joy for the next run. Anyway, it was nice to discover that running and grieving are compatible.

I'm sorry to hear about your father. Doing things for yourself whilst grieving is good. Take it easy on yourself and taking time to run is very positive!

Sorry about your father passing away, running while grieving does help people, when you graduate in a few weeks time you can dedicate your graduation run in memory of him, he would have been very proud of you.

I'm so very sorry to hear that your father has died.

Doing things to make yourself feel good, like running, is important while you grieve - hopefully as others are saying - you are remembering good times with him whilst you run.
