I started out running in my 40's , I am now 68 yrs old and I learned a lot about myself . When I started thought I would die,now I laugh at those first months ! What I learned ,set rules like will not run faster nor slower than set speeds ( still use these ) . Also found I need to be around people working out too ( a treadmill at home didn't work for me). Music is a must ( don't need to hear feet pounding and heavy breathing ), remember your not competing (even if a Greyhound runs beside you ) and of course good attitude is important . I now run between 2.5 and 3 miles in 30 mins. which is good for me ( and that's all that matters ) ...Enjoy and the Best to ...YOU..!!!!
What I Have Learned : I started out running in... - Couch to 5K
What I Have Learned
really good to hear this - just completed C25K and want to keep this up
Good to know these things. I'm just new to running. Wish I had found out that I'd enjoy it so much decades ago. However, do exciting to have discovered another passion right now.
Spot on! πππππ
Good on you Ibabyboomer2, you are like me regarding running which is that you just want to run like I do at 72 years of age for enjoyment and exercise rather than have a goal of running a marathon. π π As far as music, I sometimes have it on and other times I run without music, it depends on my mood.
"which is good for me ( and that's all that matters )"
Too right! This is all that matters in running. Thanks for your tips! I'm the same with music, if I didn't have it I'd just hate to hear myself breathing all the time!
