Wondered if it was wise to venture forth after 4 hours on the allotment fighting couch grass and digging the new raspberry bed! Came home, had a cuppa, ate some lunch, drank some water and sat at my pc for an hour to recuperate. At Laura's suggestion I varied my route today by running round a couple more fields and staying as close to the hedgerows as possible - and it did make my run more interesting - especially peeking into neighbouring gardens. Saw a humungous tree house- with curtains to boot. I did go into a bit of a zombie state for a while as I had inadvertently hit techno on my phone instead of rock and wont make that mistake again (sorry techno fans). I laughed in the face of the sudden downpour and blustery wind that hit me as I turned the first corner, and said 'you can't beat me, is that the best you've got to throw at me?' At 20 minutes I had a wobble - I suspect the uppy bits on this new route were making my thighs ache so I forced my brain to zombie out again to the techno and then it was only one minute to go - yay I CAN do this and I did. Incidentally, I am following WW and I have lost a steady pound per week in the 7 weeks I have been following the C25K - nearly two bags of potatoes! I am now half a stone away from being at the top end of my 'normal' weight range according to BMI. Off to Yin Yoga sesh tonight - will try not to fall asleep on my mat. Satisfied with my day's exertions? Yes. Smug? No, because of course W8 is waiting in the wings ..... Happy running everyone. SP x
W7R3 in the bag!: Wondered if it was wise to... - Couch to 5K
W7R3 in the bag!
Sounds like you’ve had a busy day... great job getting that run in. You’re gonna be fine in week 8... just do what you did and then it’s 3 minutes more... you can run 3 minutes right? 😂. Seriously though these 3 are so much easier then the 3s in week 3! Enjoy.
Thanks UFNM. Glad to say the Yin Yoga helped my lower backache (caused by digging not the run) and I didn't nod off in class. Thank you for your humorous and positive spin on week 8 runs. I do get nervous before the next week of runs, and always have to keep the voice in my head saying 'you can't do this' firmly batted down. Can't wait to get to Graduate and then concentrate on my next goal - to run for an hour - and then slowly slowly hope to increase my speed (which is currently very slow). So far I have been fortunate indeed not to have any injuries and I take my hat off to all those runners who for whatever reason, have to stop and start - that takes real commitment. Happy running all. SP
