Some people are just on self-destruct! My friend didn't appreciate the advice that she asked for, and I gave - note to self, if someone asks for advice, tell them what they want to hear not what you think and all will be well in the world! Must get more patience as well. Still got sobs stuck in my throat.....
It was a beautiful morning again, but had to wait in for a parcel that needed signing for, only to see the delivery man leave it in the post box at the top gate - obviously didn't need signing for then !
So as soon as we set off on our 30 minute walk, sun went in and it started mizzling on!
Anyhoo, didn't think about the running much because the conversation with my friend played through my head most of the way - a positive from a negative I suppose!
First .75 mile was a struggle as usual, but thought about the 'toxic ten' and just kept going. It's still hard though! I'd watched a video on Kinetic Revolution about Kenyan runners, but as I tried to take longer strides my hips and butt cheeks were really stiff so couldn't 'emulate' them - haven't had any problems with stiffness so far so why today?
When 'our Laura' said 12.5 mins gone I had gone much further that Wednesday, so was gee'd up nicely at the prospect of doing better today.
Had to speed up past the Postman as Winston was making his mouth go ! But at least I could speed up, or was that just being dragged along .
The last five minutes I thought about all of my virtual running friends that have kept me going on this amazing inspirational forum time after time. You're all succeeding so I'm jolly well going to an'all!! I ran 2 miles in 25 mins today. I ran 1.8 miles in 25 mins on Monday, so a little improvement.
If it wasn't for you all, I may have well sacked today off, so thank you for being there for me, makes me feel less miserable!
Yoo Hoo Week 8! Here we come...xx

Well done on leaving W7 behind and heading to W8. Looks like I'm going to be the last to complete W7R3 later on today. Will probably be running in the dark, but will have the company of my daughter so I will have someone to complain to - and she gets to tell me off/shout at me if I try to walk!!
BTW - 0.2 of a mile extra is a huge achievement when you consider people measure their personal bests in seconds - to put it into perspective you've just beaten your Monday's run by 2 minutes!!
Great stuff A New Me.😊 Sometimes the thought of not running feels worse than just getting out there, and once past the toxic ten the endorphins kick in...
Dont really notice a struggle at the beginning of my runs now. I think doing c25k+ stepping stones helped as that teaches a short slow stride at the beginning while your body takes on the oxygen you need.
Dont worry about it, every run makes a difference to your stamina. 😊 keep going to graduation and beyond..
Total big hooray for you... Life can really throw stuff at us can't it!
Te running is so good for losing everything and just letting your body take over!
You are doing amazingly.. and what a great run despite, postmen/ parcels/pal problems and a peckish pup!!!
I ran this morning...it was brilliant.but, since then have had an odd day.. funeral.. non relative, but a nice old neighbour...a headache... and a shopping order that has gone AWOL.. along with the main course for a special meal tomorrow for family! I have been on the phone for over an hour.. but no way to run the stress off now !!
Cross trainer for me later... let it go Floss!
Well done you! So close now... steady and slow as you go
Don't take people's behaviour as a reflection on you - see it as giving information about them
As for the Kenyans - most of the info regarding how they run is completely inapplicable to us. They have been mobile in a certain way since almost birth and their anatomy and physiology is thus differentiated.
Think squatting - takes years for some if they want to do it with feet flat in the ground - but saw it all the time in Asia cos they do it from the earliest ages
Well done ANewMe2022 I love the stress-busting effects of running - the only problem is I can't run as often as I want to! Twice a day would reduce me to the IC far too quickly!
