My first run!

Hi every one!

I just had my first run, and I have some questions.

I only ran for 40 sec on my last 2 runs, is that normal?

Can I do some exercises on my off days to boost my stamina? If yes, what kind of exercise is recommended?

Finally, I assumed that the app would play music during the run/walk time, should I play my own music? And would that stop the app from recording my activity?

Thanks!

Hello, your body is getting used to a new exercise so take it slow and do not move on to a new day until you have fully completed the previous one .

Start your music as you would normally then start the c25k app they run along side each other no problem😊😊

Welcome... and well done getting started.

I thought run 1 was going to kill me... run 2 I learned my lesson and slowed down a little. If you can’t talk in full sentences while running, slow it down a little.

Exercises for rest days... pretty much anything but running. High impact leg work is a no, high intensity leg work probably won’t help either. Walking, cycling, swimming, yoga, Pilates, NHS strength and flex, upper body gym work, leg strengthening exercises... there’s an almost endless choice.

Enjoy your journey.
