C25k Complete - Rest Week??

Hello

I complete the c25k program on Saturday which was a great feeling.

The past 3 weeks has been constant pain with my left shin (Have correct shoes following gait analysis)

I clearly want to keep running but think I should take a week to let this shin heal. I have access to a exercise bike and potentially could use this instead of my normal 30 minute run.

My biggest worry is losing any thing I have built. I would hate to go back to running in a week and not be able to do the 30 min

Thoughts?

I wonder if rubbing tiger balm or something like that on before a short run might help?

I don’t think you’ll lose your ability to run and I do think giving your shin time to heal is probably more important! Non weight bearing like exercise bike would be a great plan, good luck!

Congratulations! I’d have a break to rest the shin in your position, you won’t lose fitness. Celebrate well and have a nice gentle run in a few days. As the pain is asymmetrical (only in one shin) it could be a minor injury rather than just the constant lengthening of the runs. Enjoy consolidation and your future running adventures

You won't lose noticeable condition in the first two weeks of non running, so resting up is a good option.

You will be able to do the 30 minute run. Take the rest if you need it. I have had a week off and. was able to pick up where I left off. Listen to your body.

So tomorrow is a week I have had off. I have used a exersice bike that's all. My shin is as bad now as it was a week ago. Generally hurts to walk on it also :(
