Week 4 Run 2 fail

I just attempted week 4 run 2 this afternoon and had to stop half way through. Run 1 was difficult but manageable whereas this one felt impossible! I normally do my runs at night but decided to do this one in the afternoon so maybe that has something to do with it? I also don’t eat normally before my runs but today I did and found myself developing a stitch relatively early on. I feel like such a failure, I’m so annoyed with myself as this is the first time that Ive been unable to complete a run first time round :(

UPDATE - after taking my rest day and trying run 2 again at my normal time i completed it! Thanks so much for all your kind and supportive words yesterday!

Failure would be not going out for your run at all , some times runs are just rubbish . So take your rest day then go back out and try this run again you can do this 😊

Every run is a bit of an experiment which sometimes goes really well and sometimes not. If we learn something that’s great but if not we can just try again anyway. Don’t beat yourself up with talk of failure

- just carry on and try to look forward to your next run! 🙂

There is no such thing as a failed run. There are only practice runs.

It really - as you say - may be that you’d eaten before you ran, and possibly ran too soon after eating?

I’m sure you’ll manage it next time, and if you don’t? That’ll just be another practice run, and as we all know practice makes perfect 👍

Don’t be so hard on yourself- you are doing brilliantly! 😃

Not a fail at all, just a practice... and you have learnt that your body does not like to run too soon after food which is another step forward learning to be a runner. 😄

So you changed things and it didn't suit you.........so that is all part of the learning process.

Have a rest day, prepare as you have previously and it is yours for the taking.

You’re anything but a failure... look at you on run 11... ok, things were wrong today and you were out of your comfort zones... but you got out there and the run you did will make you a stronger runner for the next one. Celebrate your successes, learn from the runs that don’t go to plan. You’ll probably find the next run goes really well.

It weird isn’t it how the first run of the ‘week?’ Can go better than the 2nd,,you’d expect it to be the other way 🤔,, I knowwww how you feel as I had the same experience in week4 too. I’m used to ‘running’ in the dark and colder weather. And felt how nice to run on a Saturday afternoon in the sun,,but it wasn’t as good as I’d expected and felt like you as thought it was a ‘fail’ but it isn’t really is it,,,it’s still progress of sorts. I bet you - run 3 will be so much better. Just keep it slow and steady. 🏃‍♀️
