Week 7 Run 1 and I failed , first time not on the treadmill and I only managed 5 mins running , I don't know what went wrong , whether I went too fast as I didn't have the treadmill telling me my speed or that is was the weather , wind and rain , I just couldn't run : ( Bit put off trying agin now : ((

Right. Gin is not the answer 😂. But don’t worry, you’ll do it in the end. Rain & wind aren’t always part of the fun but they are part of the process. And once you are used to it, running outdoors does have loads to recommend it. Even wind can be helpful if it’s behind you; and quite a lot of us actually enjoy a bit of rain. So never despair. The only way to fail is not to start. The rest is all progress. 👍

Please don't use the F word!!

You went out and did it and many find the transition to outdoor running difficult and it may take a few runs to adapt your pace.

So you learned something......that running outdoors is not the same as on a treadmill......that is positive knowledge to have in your armoury and next time you will no doubt push on a bit further.....but in no way is it a failure.

Keep running, keep smiling.

Don’t think you have failed because you havent, call it a practice run. Running outside is very different than a treadmill as you have the weather, inclines, pavements to contend with...give it another go and stay positive thinking you can do it. Try going really slow (I’m like a snail) but it works. Don’t be disheartened...you can do this 👊

Going from the treadmill to outdoor running is different you will have to give yourself time to adjust to running outside and then you've got to learn to slow your pace give it time 😊
