I was just about to start week 8 when I started getting pain under the knee, but more on the inside of my knee. Stopped running and icing and resting as much as possible. Haven’t run for a week now and missing it like mad. BUT unsure what to do when I restart C25K. Do I start back at the beginning or from week 8? I don’t think it’s going to be a quick recovery, so not sure what to do.
What’s anyone else done that came back from injury? X
I had a recurring calf rather than a knee injury at the beginning of week 7. I rested it for a week/ten days and the went back to Week 5 run 1 and built it up again. Worked for me. If my knee felt really bad I would head for the physio pdq.
The rule is that if you're off running for more than two weeks you go back a few weeks just to make sure you will be able to run, if you are off running for more than a month then go back to week 1, however, you say that you have only been off running for a week so just continue where you left off.
Don't feel you have to hop back into the program at any specific stage. Why not just go for a 10 minute easy run and see how the knee is. That might give you a better idea of whether you need more rest or where to pick up the program from. You are the best judge of your own body.
Go back where you're comfortable, you might want to try one of the shorter sessions to make sure your knee is ok, then if it is you can jump straight back to where you were
