I got to end of week 8, then my knee gave way, and it has taken 4 weeks to be strong again, how far back should I go to get going again

I’d say try week 5 and some intervals first and then if you can keep going without pain(!!) then see what you can do??

I feel your pain ! (Although mine isn't the knee )

My last completed run was week 8 run 1

And that was 9 days ago , and I'm not ready to return just yet .

What I'm thinking of doing is when I restart I will probably (as I've not made my mind up yet !) go out with the app on my next run as normal but take it really slow and also not beat myself up if I don't complete it , if I'm ok after 5 mins I will carry on , if not I will stop .

I will do this for as many times as it takes not to have increasing discomfort.

If on a scale of 0 to 10 my discomfort gets to 3 or more I will stop take more rest .

That is my plan , but it's very flexible 🙂

I was thinking that, to continue where I left off and not worry about having to stop and see how I go

It is really frustrating to suffer an injury so close to graduation (I know!).

Go out on your next run to just see what you can comfortably manage without pain - be prepared for an intervals run. A month off running will mean you have lost a little fitness but after a trial run you should be able to judge which level of the plan would be the best place for you to slot back in to training.
