I think we all get a run that we are not happy with. As long as you finished and don’t have to do again. A good sleep and day off and the next run is another day. Go for it and enjoy.
The good news is that the bad run still makes you stronger and fitter for the next run, and of course a better runner. It was also the opportunity to test the mental strength, which the great runs don’t do... that mental strength will get you over a lot of finish lines.
Do you track the runs? My guess would be that you ran a little faster today.
Usually after a tough run comes a much smoother one... enjoy.
Unfortunately I do track my runs and I was slower. But that’s ok.
You’re right about the mental training though, I really had to dig deep to keep going, I felt all kinds of awful and the nagging feeling to stop was the strongest I’ve ever had. But I got round, I did it.
So good you were able to keep going! I had this a few runs ago - id eaten too much earlier in the day and felt sooo sick! You should be so proud you were able to keep going throughout that!!
