Back on the programme after a 3 week break :)

Good evening runners!

I am back on the programme after having a minor op 3 weeks ago to have a mole removed. Happily, the mole was benign and my stitches are out, my scar is healing nicely so I went for a run today!

The last run I did was W5R3 and I was thinking about redoing the whole of Week 5 again but I thought, you know what, I wasn't struggling when I stopped so I'm just going to pick up where I left off. So I have just done Week 5 Run 3 again and I'm happy to say I did it and I even did it faster than 3 weeks ago (disclaimer: I know it's not a race!) although only barely.

Still feel like my glutes are soooo weak. Need to do some squats. But I can never motivate myself! I feel like I'd be such a better runner if I just wasn't so weak!!

Glad the mole has gone, congratulations on rerunning run 3 of week 5 in a slightly better time than the first time, just be careful about run 1 of week 6 which have runs and walking intervals and has caught out a few runners.

Perfect post for your comeback.

Glad it was benign and you have healed well.

That run though... good thinking to just try and run 20 again for sure, it’s the best way to assess your level... and with fresh legs you not only did it but we’re quicker... that’s a sign and a half of how well you were doing before your break.

I hope you know how awesome you are.

Enjoy week 6... oh, and get those squats done!

Great, you’re back to it. Once you’ve been fit it comes back more quickly so as you’ve done C25k before I shouldn’t think it will be that difficult. One week off isn’t enough to lose fitness as you’ve found out. Week 6 next then 👍😀
