I have just done my first run of week 9 and ecstatic that I have achieved 30 minutes continuous running! I'm half a stone lighter and much fitter than I've been for years! Thing is, I'm a little sad that it's coming to an end, and a bit worried that my motivation might waver... I don't want to go further than 5k but I want to keep running as I'm feeling great! Can anyone who has felt like this give me any tips on keeping my motivation? TY in advance!
Week 9 in progress- what next?: I have just done... - Couch to 5K
Week 9 in progress- what next?
In the weeks following graduation we recommend that you consolidate your running at 30mins/5k for a few weeks, just to have a break from increasing every week, as you have been during C25K.
When you graduate I will send you a piece about post C25K running.
Nearly there!
I’m in the same position. I don’t really want to run much further, happy with 5k thanks! I continued running for 30mins three times a week for a few weeks the went to 35, then 40. After a few more runs I noticed the distance had crept up to 2.9 miles so the next run I set out to do 5km. It took me just over 45mins. Since then I have been doing 5k every other day, and although I am not deliberately going faster, it is nice to see the time gradually coming down. I’m happy just plodding along doing 5km for now but not sure how long it will last before I get bored and need new challenges!
