Am I weird?

It seems a lot of people on here don t like running when the weather is warm, but I love it!

I'd forgotten how much, until I ran today. In fact, I even waited for the slight chill in the air to go before I set out. No faffing, no having to decide if I needed a waterproof, fleece, buff, gloves, hat, or countless combinations of the above, just tee shirt and leggings and off I went🌞

There's nothing like feeling the sun on your back and the sweat in your hair to make you appreciate the simpler things in life.

I didn't go far (didn't want to leave my new pup on his own for too long) so just a 5k, and I didn't go fast - those who have read any of my previous posts will know I can't do fast anyway!

But it was glorious to be out. Roll on summer!

The warm weather is new to me being a runner just getting used to it. Also what a beautiful dog I wouldn't want to leave him/her on there own for too long either😊😊🐶🐶

I dunno, it was nice to have a little time to myself without him - it's like having a toddler under your feet all day, and I'd forgotten how tiring that can be!

Yes your right my dog is 2 and a half and I remember the first few weeks no sleep like having a new baby 😊

But look at him now - beautiful!

It is summer Tartancat, the temperature in London yesterday was 21C, in old money that's 70F, you have a lovely 🐶 pup.

16 degrees today when I set out AlMorr. I'm hoping we won't pay for this lovely weather later in the year!

Well I have never known a March when we didn't get a cold snap, now I'm not expecting anything like it was last year around now, exceptionally cold weather with bitterly cold east winds and snow, however, there will probably be a some snow and frost during March, so for any runners, dress up for whatever the weather is, as for whatever the weather is later on in the year, who knows. 😊 🤔☔💦🌩

I thought I liked running in the heat, I started last summer and loved it, but found it a bit hot the other day. I guess we acclimatise. I don’t think you’re mad 😀

Tartancat profile image

Um, didnt you go to Oz for a few weeks just to escape our crummy winter weather? 😁

You've obviously acclimatised back to the cold very quickly!! ⛄🌞

Yes, you're weird! 🤣🤣🥵🥵

What season did you start running in?

Tartancat profile image
TartancatGraduate in reply toJell6

April last year, so this has been my first winter. And whilst I've still enjoyed running in the cold and wet (which sounds odd, but it's true), it's not as good as running in the sunshine!

Maybe some of us prefer the season that we started in.

That would certainly apply to me, and you it seems to 😊

Tartancat profile image
TartancatGraduate in reply toJell6

Well I've heard it said people prefer the season they were born, and I'm a June baby, so it all makes sense 😊

Only a tad though!

With that pup I wouldn’t leave. So scrumptious. What a fabulous running buddy to have when he’s older. I am green with envy. Just look at that pup face 🥰😍

He is pretty, but a while to go before he'll be running with me - a long term project!

What a gorgeous pup! No, I'm with you all the way on this, I hate trying to regulate my body temperature in winter. In summer I find it easier to find a time to run. On the rare occasion when it's really hot, I ran very early or late (and long days make that easier too). But than I'm not one of these strange people who can run in shorts and t shirt when the temperature is in single figures. Brrrr!
