Haven’t posted in a while but still been doing a fair bit of running and have set myself a goal of doing all the parkruns in Northern Ireland in 2019 7 of the 27 done so far and have my time down to 27.28 with a goal of getting it down further.

It’s been good getting around the different courses as the terrain varies so much.

It’s hard to believe that around 8 months ago I couldn’t run at all and now im doing 5K for fun, and enjoying some other exercise classes in my local gym to. Couch to 5K has been the best thing ive done in a long time for both physical and mental health. If your struggling through those early weeks stick at it! The plan really does work and I really enjoy running now. Trust the plan, what seems impossible now will be a distant memory in such a short time.

It is great the places this programme takes us, isn't it? Great goal too - how many Parkruns are there in Northern Ireland btw?!🙂

That is a bit like what they call in Scotland "Munro Bagging " that is climbing every mountain in Scotland over 3000 feet. Well done on your progress on running every parkrun in N. Ireland. 😊 🏃

Well done on your time. I did my 30th Parkrun yesterday and have brought my time from a PB of 31:04 to 28:32 in the last month. There is a real cluster of Parkruns around Belfast. I’m based in Navan and have done 4 different Parkrun courses so far. I’m going away with family for a weekend break in April and picked Westport as a destination so as I can do Parkrun with my 9 year old son and get the first course on the compass challenge. I’m planning to do a couple of Northern Ireland courses myself this year. I’m going to try and get 10 new Parkrun courses done this year myself.

I agree with you 100%, the C25K program has got me out, losing weight, gaining fitness and becoming a Parkrun addict. I’m running 3-4 times a week and I’m loving it.

Best wishes on your quest and enjoy the 20 Parkruns which you have left on your list.

Damien

Thank you Would recommend Victoria Park for a quick time in NI, all glad and a lovely park looking forward to doing Portrush, it looks like it will be a challenge along the beach. Enjoy the compass challenge
