It nearly killed me; my first session of week 1.... nearly killed my poor dog too! I want to do every other day (without fail) so that I can get to my target before I turn 50 at the end of April...

any tips?

You might be going too quickly. Go as slowly as you can whilst running. I’m a few years older than you and if I can do it anyone can.

Try to be positive. My first day was really difficult, found it very hard to run for 1 minute.I ran for 28 yesterday,I'm 58 and quite overweight,if i can do it anyone can.Good luck and don't give up.

It nearly killed me too!

Don't think that you should be running, like you would have in school. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Go for a verrrry slow running speed, it doesn't matter if your walking bits feel quicker.

You can do this 😊

at least I'm not alone... my dog was walking faster than I was running... made me laugh about the 'brisk walk' for a cool down!!!

I did week 1 run 1 today! I nearly died too and went an odd shade of purple. My children think I have gone mad! When do you plan to do your second run? Mine is Monday. I’d like to follow you so we can gee each other along x

You can always go slower believe me! The first run is so much harder than you think it will be, I think people expect it to be easy, and it isn't, so don't worry that you found it tough. Most people do, apart from already fit people. But it is doable, and you can do it too ☺️. Good luck to you and norfolkmummy for tomorrow.

I reckon with the advice from IannodaTruffe and a Virtual Running Buddy at the same stage, you are on your way to success! Welcome to this very supportive forum. Believe me, you will eventually enjoy your running (even if that seems impossible now).
