First sign of spring?

Just a 20 minute run today... but a tempo run so I had to push pace a little... no snowdrops or daffodils on my route today, certainly no sign of swallows yet... but for the first time this year I managed to get my t-shirt wet without it raining... TMI, but I thought I’d share it anyways! Managed to get through the winter without putting the tights on... touch wood.

Happy running.

Did you never cover the legs even when it was -2/-3? 🥶🥶

Didn’t get to run in it... we had ice so I didn’t run... did run at 0C in shorts... last one of those was a bit nippy!

I'm sure it was!❄

My favourite running temperature is 3°C, that seems pretty perfect to me.

After this mornings 8°, I have decided, next time to go for a long sleeved top with a sleeveless hoodie over it, I did get too warm this morning 😰

I had sleeves on today... but the t-shirt over was gone... think it’s time to put the long sleeves away.

Naturally I’ve always preferred cold to heat... dreading summer if it’s going to be like the last one... but I hear rumours that the Nike app has achievements for running between midnight and 3am 😂

Well done UNM. Always happy to hear when someone puts in the extra effort! You must have your own built in central heating system to stave off the cold ❄ x

Either that or I’m a dumbass bloke who has a mental block when it comes to words like tights or leggings... certainly stockings are a no-no 😂

There's no such thing as a dumbass bloke! lol Maybe you don't like to draw attention your 'lunchbox' / 'brass monkey' x

Shorts over at all times if ever I do wear them! 😂

There’s no such thing as a fish... but there’s an orange guy stateside that proves there’s such a thing as a dumbass bloke 😂

You probably do... you mention them quite often or maybe it’s because you are scared that if you start wearing them you will love them too much ... Even my postman covered his legs for a couple of weeks but he’s back in shorts now :-)

They’ve been staring at me every time I’ve opened my wardrobe for a couple of months now. Dunno what it is with posties... last year I was knee deep in snow and my postie came strolling up in shorts!

Haha easier to dry. That was my mum’s reasoning for sandals and shorts in rain.

I’m like that when we camp (I can guarantee torrential rain whenever I go and great weather when I holiday in something solid!) and always wear little when I have to venture out.

I’ll have to remember to ask where you are in the country before I go hiking next time to avoid the rain! (Did you see my horsey picture I took for you?)

I was going to offer my services to a local tourist board... Cornwall could pay me to camp in the Lake District or vice versa, highest bidder doesn’t get me 😂

Nope... just looked now though. Been busy lately 🤨. Nice pic... and you’re into your victory lap now I see!!

Yes I would contact them 😂

Yep due for the real 9-1 today but need to check calf pain has gone and be sensible.

Yup... nothing wrong with an extra rest day, sensibility is important at this stage. Hope it’s all good.

Always happier after the speed sessions than during! Some nice slow ones ahead now. How are you doing?

Had a bad chest infection which has stopped me running for 7 weeks :( It's cleared now, but moving home over the weekend. I'll restart in about two weeks. Have missed it, surprisingly haha

Glad to hear it’s cleared! Know what you mean about missing it... I’m being so careful not to injure myself again and go through that pain!

I see the wet t-shirt season has started early this year!🙈 Well I'm not joining in with the shorts until it's several times warmer! Sounds like a cracking run you did all the same 😊

It was fun when it was done 😂. Speed days are never as much fun as recovery and long runs. Friday is gentle, Sunday is 7k... looking forwards to them.

Maybe there'll be some snowdrops by the weekend 😊🌸 enjoy the gentle run.

I saw snowdrops when I was running yesterday.

Cool... when I see similar here I get a day of cross training in turning the vegetable patches over ready for planting, so I can go a couple more weeks at least... gardening and me don’t like each other 😂
