I am starting week 4 5 min runs this sounds long and hard
Week 4: I am starting week 4 5 min runs this... - Couch to 5K
Week 4
I find the five minute runs the hardest. It's a mental thing, five minutes doesn't sound like a long time, until you focus in on it. I ran for 20 minutes on Friday and thought there was no way I'd be able to do it, but my mind knew that it was like an epoch and adjusted itself accordingly. Last night (W6R1) I was back to a five-minuter to start with and twenty seconds in, my brain was telling me, "We must be nearly done by now".
Only advice I can give is to try and keep your mind conditioned that you have to run until told to stop, and keep it suitably distracted not to try and second guess the time. Your body will cope. The standard advice is to try and go nice and slow.
Good luck!
You will be fine.
Have a positive attitude and it will work wonders healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
You can do this.
You genuinely can do it. Take it slow and steady, and try to relax. Rather than forcing yourself through, enjoy seeing what your body can manage and your progress since week 1. You’ll be there before you know it !
Thanks
it`s a big help when you are told 1min to go.i think the half way bell goes during the first 5 min and you get a good recovery time then the last 5 min run you know you can do because you have done it already,it`s not so bad.
