Hi all I have been doing the c25k for 6 weeks now and have had to repeat a few times due to being asthmatic and having a cold (which always goes to my chest). I did week 4 day 2 tonight and found it really hard, so much so I feel like I want to give up! :-( my legs& chest were hurting, I got as far as this before but due to being I'll had to go back :-( Will it get easier??

It will if you stop trying to run with a chest cold. Stay home until you are better. Go back to W3 if you need to.

Try a different route. A flatter route.

Do you still have a cold? If so, perhaps you need to recover a little more. Or maybe it was just a bad run.

No the cold has gone, but my asthma has always been a problem since I was diagnosed, have had numerous chest infections and pneumonia! I'd have to drive to find a flatter route that's the only proble, Thanks for your help :-)

dont worry about it unduly. Slow progress is still progress. If inclines cause you problems, avoid them for now. If you have to keep repeating a week, that's okay too.

Try running slower. Although it seems to be a slow pace it got my breathing right. Good Luck

Yep I had to go so slowly so I could still breathe, made my legs ache more but just couldn't keep going otherwise

I'd search out that flat route, plenty of times for hills later

Also I've read somewhere the cold affects asthma, and that running with say a buff over mouth and nose helps, might be worth a try
