I'm a 63 year old man, tall, fat who wants to be healthy.
Two of my grown up kids took up running and now compete in marathons. So last year I heard of Couch to 5k and decided to give it a go. I reached Week 8 Day 2, 28min 3.5k, but didn't push on and instead went back to earlier weeks. I had a fall on gravel while running that unsettled me and I stopped.
I'm going to start from scratch Friday so by the end of June at the latest I'll do a 5k Park Run.

Well done for starting again! Falls are a real pain and many of us have the scars to prove it. But you just pick yourself up and carry on, hoping no real damage has been done. Good luck with the programme - you'll soon be out there with your family!
Good for you!! I started C25k at age 67 over 3 years ago - have now done 96 parkruns I had never ever run in my life and when I had tried, it never worked for me. C25k is very good because it is progressive and leads you onto bigger things I am not a fast runner - just an old runner !!
You have come to the right place!!!! Welcome back... and no falls this time
I think many of us have had tumbles. and it is not funny.... but here you are and determined to do it.
You know the form? Follow the programme, take the rest days, supplement with other exercise too and of course..healthy eating Oh and of course, slow and steady.
I am nearly 60 and had a mother of a fall recently! You dust yourself off and get back on it
A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do ๐ Ok it might not always go swimmingly but we are tougher than we think.
If you go nice and steady, C25k is well within your capabilities. Get cracking, start eating healthy and make your family proud. Yourself too of course. Unfit old age doesn't have to be an inevitability!
Come on ๐ You have a huge welter of support here ๐
Well done for starting over!๐you sound determined and with the support if your family and here of course, you'll be at that parkrun! ๐I will be on no 85 this Saturday๐
Great to hear that you're doing it! You know you can do it, and in moments of doubt we're here for you! Keep slow and steady, and no more falls, ok, maybe 1 on the bed when you're done
