Loved my first park run Loved it! What a great friendly bunch of people... and so much for not going too fast ... whoops , got a bit carried away and smashed all my records!! I may live to regret that I fear. But at the time it didn’t feel like I was going that fast. So happy, will be back and very lucky to have 4 parkrun venues in our city! Thanks to everyone on here for all the support - especially Bluebirdrunner and Old Floss. Haha I think I’m at the Oscars now 🙄😂 x x x

So are you doing the 10k plan?

Pleased to say that I gradually increased my distance and have reached just over 11km. Currently taking it easy because of hamstring strain which happened during a very easy pace. Had a week off icing, resting and have now have two runs since. Happy running to you! 🏃‍♀️😊

Congratulations on your first Parkrun. Wow and what an amazing pace and time. Excellent stuff. You’ll be on a high for a week.

Arh thanks so much! I was pretty chuffed, well until I saw I came 464th out of 542 😂 hey ho ! No I’m still very pleased 😀

The amazing thing about Parkrun is that you are only competing against yourself and your previous PB times. I adore Parkrun, did my 29th this morning. It keeps me running.

Congratulations on smashing those records... a nice easy run next time out will sort any aches out that you get!

Thanks Unfitnomore! Yeah I was thinking that. Already can tell I needed to stretch a lot more than I did!

Well done on discovering Parkrun. It's amazing isn't it? But be warned... it's a bit addictive! :)

CatMo13 profile image
CatMo13Graduate in reply toPianism

Thank you. Yes I’m a bit worried about doing it every week, I would have to give myself a massive talking to, like ‘don’t try to beat your PB !’

Pianism profile image
PianismGraduate in reply toCatMo13

Yes. Some people I've met set specific dates for PB tries... e.g. 1st week in the month is trying for a PB and the rest of them they purposefully run with a slower runner to keep their pace down. There are options. :)

CatMo13 profile image
CatMo13Graduate in reply toPianism

Hmm good idea . I don’t know any slower runners than me is the trouble, I’m usually the slowest ever runner! Maybe I could just tag along with runners at the back I guess. Self control is required! Thank you Piano 🎹

Well done CatMo! That’s great that it didn’t feel that fast; you are clearly built for performance under pressure! 👌

Oh... so pleased you had fun CatMo....and what a quick time. 💥 I know you were nervous about doing Parkrun, but I've only heard people say how friendly everyone is and that they felt welcome, so was sure you would be looked after.

Those robot legs of yours knew what to do and you did brilliantly. I hope your knee didn't grumble. Well done ! 👌✋👏👏👏👏✔🍸🍸🌟🌟🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊xx

Hi CatMo13, Not a reply to this post. I'm sure that you had posts about the free place on the Brighton HM, which I responded to. Looks like you found a way of deleting your posts, perhaps because someone took up the offer. I do hope that someone was able to.

Happy running to you.
