I did it!!!

Went out for run earlier and was supposed to be a short one - saving myself for a parkrun tomorrow. Anyway despite the wind and the rain pricking my face got into a nice pace. I remebered posting on here earlier that when you run feels good you have to the most of it. I changed my route a bit and combined it with road and hills. Not a fast one by any means!! But I did it 10k!! ! So happy! think I will do the parkrun next week and have a lovely glass of wine tonight and looking forward to a lie in. Thanks everybody, your inspiration is my motivation!!! :) x

Thank you Moger!! I am pretty chuffed! Nowhere near your league but it is an amazing world out there and how great to discover it running! :)

Thank you Suzy - really enjoyed it! Apart from the uphill bit. I felt like on of those cartoon characters, legs spinning but going nowhere!! x

It really is Hules, couldn't run for 2 mins at the beginning of Jan, seriously running has got my life back on track!! (excuse the pun!) :)

I know I can't believe it!! Something magical happens around the 40 min mark - you forget about the breathing and realise you doing it very well and running too! Might as well go a bit further, my motto each time out!! Think I may have peaked though but very happy if this becomes my thrice weekly routine. Thanks for all your kind words x

Thank you - it felt slower! I do wonder about the calories bit because that is a lot of calories to burn off with each run (I'm 7 stone 9).

Congratulations!!!! You must be well chuffed with that

As regards your calories lost during your run - if you eat healthily you will be fine. You can have a few more potatoes than the rest of us runners who are trying to ditch the pounds. When you watch these long distance runners on telly, they all look very slender don't they
