Hello everyone!

Not written for a while but have been slowly building up my distance after knee trouble. Up to just over 4km now. I’m still hoping to do parkrun very soon - maybe this Saturday (eek) Should I do a shorter run tomorrow or long slower one ? I ran monday and plan to run tomorrow the the parkrun. Any advice - thank you 😊

It all depends how you are approaching parkrun.

If you want to go hell for leather for a pb, then it might be wise to just do a shorter run beforehand and keep something in reserve.

Okay thank you . I won’t go mad on the park run but I will do a short run tomorrow 👍🏻

I'd do the shorter one tomorrow. Try to run the full 5km at a fairly slow pace on Saturday. Don't worry about your time - just complete it. Walk the last bit if you have to. Then, the following Saturday, you'll smash your pb. You'll love it.

You’ve the same name as my dad 😁 Yes will take that advice. I will be nervous on Saturday but will try to stay calm!

A shorter easy run tomorrow, then give it a bit at PR if you can, try and run upto and over the finish line..

Have a good one!

Hi CatMo, I haven't done Parkrun myself 😕....I think there might be a table or tent area where people leave their stuff, but I don't actually know. Does it say anything on the website for the Parkrun you are going to?

I hope someone gives you the answer, I will ask Oldfloss for you. 😊xx

Hi CatMo, Floss has told me that there is a table in a tent where people leave their stuff, but it's not manned all the time, so don't leave any valuables there.

😊xx

I have walk ran it since week one using the app which finishes before the five k so just alternated

Look at the Jeff Galloway technique the intervals are a good way to build up

Thanks yes I read a bit about his method- they call it jeffing I believe .

Yes that’s right you run at a ratio to suit. Each generally has a 30 sec walk because that’s all that’s required to recover.
