Going to give it a go tomorrow, nervous but I have good shoes , tunes and a location planned im going to the woods it is at the coast so nice and sandy I'm hoping that will be a good surface. Taking it slow and steady but any tips welcome!

Taking on my 1st run tomorrow
Hi, I did my first yesterday! Slow is the way to go...easy jog - speed means nothing! It's not so bad if you take it slow! Good luck, run 2 for me tomorrow!
Learn to go from brisk warmup walk to slower run and you’ll be fine. If you start to feel puffed, just slow down some more!
Good luck on your 1st run, we are all with you 🏃♀️👍xx
Hello and a warm welcome!
I'm currently on week 5. Everyone will tell you to take it as slow as you possibly can. Keep your knees low and your feet under you. I learned to pace myself by imagining someone at a brisk walk beside me whilst I moved in a jogging motion.
You will find all the helpful information you will need on the pinned posts on the forum home page.
Good luck with your running and I look forward to reading about your adventures x
Thank you hoping to find it okay ish !

Welcome. 👏🏼 I was so unsure when I started that I didn’t tell anyone - but it’s fine. You will be amazed when you look back after even a couple of runs. And there is lots of helpful advice here when needed. As others have said, just take it gently. Forget Mo Farah for the moment and think Snail. 🐌 Enjoy. 🎉
It’s my first run tomorrow as well good luck
Good luck to us both, check back in tomorrow if you can, be interesting to see how you get on ?
Hey - brilliant. Welcome and good luck. Have a great run tomorrow. 😊🏃♀️
First of all welcome to a great forum and well done for making a start!
If you’re at all like me, I hadn’t run since school and was very self conscious of people laughing at me. They didn’t. In fact they didn’t even notice me gasping my way round the park! Even if you get a second glance, remember that you’re doing it and they Just wish they had the courage.
Trust the plan, it works, and relax. Don’t try to set a new world record. You’ll find your pace, but it may take a couple of runs to nail it. Most of all though enjoy it. Sounds like you have a nice area to run, so head up and look around.
Good luck and once again welcome!😊😊
Just enjoy it. Nice and slow is the key. Have Faith in the plan let us know how it goes!
Don't worry about your speed, a steady pace is best. Listen to the advice from your coach and enjoy your achievements. You can do it!
Hiya! I did my first run yesterday - welcome! Just a small tip I learnt the hard way haha remember to fully stretch and warm up/down and your legs will thank you for it 😊 you can do this xx
Good luck to everyone starting out! Trust in the programme, lean on this forum for advice and encouragement and, most of all, listen to your body. You will be amazed at the progress you make and how great you will feel!
Good luck with your first run, you will feel so proud of yourself afterwards.
Enjoy today..well done signing up to this! Take it easy..slow and steady..it really does work (fellow non runner and I ran10k yesterday..still slow and steady 😂)
Welcome to the forum.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Enjoy your journey.
Well done on starting!
Definitely as slow as you can go and you’ve got it, we are all looking forward to hearing how it went 😊
Lots of luck - and to all of you just starting out😊. That was me a mere 3 months ago and although I cannot yet manage 5K in 30 minutes, 30 minutes actual running now seems the norm for me!
How did it go? I did my 3rd today but my first alone outside near my house. 1 run was with a friend who introduced me to couch to 5k, second one was on a hotel treadmill and so this morning was daunting! I’m not a good runner, but did the full circuit, 8 mns broken up by 90 seconds brisk walking and a warm up and cool down walk, only 4K steps. I think breathing is key, but i’m terrible at it, guess I’ll learn as I continue! I liked having the coach telling me to keep going via the app rather than music... I think that is mainly because I’m starting. Good luck with yours!
Go for it!
I did it just amazed myself not too bad at all moved at snail pace to make sure I could finish. Heartfelt thanks for the support peeps x.
Don't think. Just do - you'll be fine - use the app. I didn't think I would ever run either. I'm up at 10k now after 2 or so months of installing the app. Believe!
Hi good luck dont go off to fast just follow the pod cast😊☺
everyone here says start slow and get slower to build stamina, as a new runner i can say its true and it works!!
Follow the programme, you'll be fine and will succeed 😊
Enjoy your first run and good luck 😉
Congratulations. It took me from 8.00am till 3.50pm to actually leave the house last week. But after reading so many supportive msgs and advice I did it,like you. Today I’m on w2r1. I’m a bit nervous but I can just do my best. Slow slow slow is definitely the best.
Once again, well done you. 👍
Take it easy but enjoy, I'm just about to start w7 I do look forward to the next run its so satisfying when you finish. Hope it goes well and you get the running bug.
well done on taking up this weirdly addictive hobby. Advice...a bad run is better than no run at all. Slow and steady and bling is addictive.
