Woo hoo....1 run to do πŸ˜€ cannot believe it!

This is the first run using my new watch. But I don't believe it- it said I did 6.6km in 30 mins. I run very slow and the only other time I measured distance was on a treadmill. That was 3.2 for 28mins. How can i Check distance is accurate. Is there a map app I can use? I know where I ran from and to....

How did you all celebrate your final run - I need ideas πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ. Mo

6.6 would be huge! Try running Strava, MapMyRun, Nike run club, or one of many others alongside it. Great run though whatever the distance... I hope you love every step of that graduation run.

You might need to calibrate it. If you run with it with no gps or on a treadmill it won’t be accurate without a calibrated foot pod.

It’s looking like my graduation run is going to be on an oil rig offshore Nigeria, so celebration will be subdued to say the least.

Ok thanks...sounds technical ! You will definitely remember your graduation run though - sounds amazing 😊

A GPS watch will track your distance, whereas a pedometer type of unit counts your steps.

Yes it's counting the steps - I am going to check distance on the map. Definitely not 6kms! Thanks

6.6km in 30 mins is impressive but achievable. Free strava app on your phone with location switched on will verify your distance next time.

Mine does the same and I think It is the stride setting which is on default, so it thinks I am running further and faster than I actually am. Strava reads 4.9km with 28min run (week 7 with extra running) and warm up walk and watch reads 6.7km.

Aaah yes that might be it. It didn't ask me to set stride and I am not tall so my stride will be very short! Thanks πŸ˜€πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ
