After advice my right calf keeps seizing up as if cramp and not sure why? Is it not enough fluids? Too fast ? Carried on and finished it’s been a bit like this since Week 3 not every run but occasionally it happens. I have left days between runs. Happy for any advice.

Morning 😊. Take it you done all the usual, stretches before and after, warm up, drinking before going out(water, although on cold morning I wish it could be a shot of whisky😂). I put a rehydration tablet in my water bottle too. Try using a foam roller on your calves before and after, run slower. If non of that has worked or works how about getting a sports massage by a qualified therapist they will then be able to tell you if something is not right with that calf. Hope you get it sorted 😊🏃🏼‍♀️

Thanks for info and advice. Yes stretched out and walked warm up. Came on near to end of second five minute run.

It may be not enough fluids........ you need to drink 2-3litres of fluids in the 24 hours before your run, as explained in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

It might be going too fast.........try running slower, no faster than the easy conversational pace described in the guide.

You say you are stretching before your run..........are you doing dynamic or static stretching? Static stretching prior to running is associated with injury........see the guide.

Static stretching after a run pulls out contracted muscles while they are warm and supple and reduces tension on tendons and improves blood flow to aid repair, so is far more important than stretching before a run, injury opinion.

Dynamic stretching is being done and static afterwards will try more fluids for next one. Thanks
