W5R1 Running in the Ice. Aka. “Do you have a deathwish?”

Not quite sure how to judge this one as I kept having to tiptoe over patches of ice. In the first 5 minute run I had no choice but to slow down at least a couple of times... and then runs 2 & 3 I basically decided to just keep running up and down a patch of pavement which had mostly melted! Bit boring. Couldn’t really get into the swing of it, but oh well at least I did it.

Asked my husband about how icy it was before I went out. “It’s fine once you get past co-op.” Was it heck!

A shame as it’s so sunny today, had there not been ice around I think it would have been a glorious day for a run.

On a positive note at least I managed not to break my ankle or anything! Only one near slip on black ice as I was walking back home. Careful out there, folks!

Just need it all to melt now, before Tuesday eve please for Run 2!

I really can’t do ice at all so I totally understand, my run Day was Friday and we were white over. So Saturday I took a local bus into town where it had completely gone and ran round there. Take it easy. Rfc x

Yeah ice can be treacherous, can’t it? When we had a bit of frost over here I ran around in the parks because I felt the ice on the ground would be slightly less wicked but I’m not sure the roads were really that much worse to be honest. I say, don’t feel bad about keeping safe: you’ll lose far more time recovering from injury than you will from waiting for better weather out.
