Week 4 hurdles

The step up from 3 minutes to 5 minutes seemed massive. The first two times I attempted this week, I managed the first 5 mins run, but then I had to pause the audio and walk for longer to recover before the next set and then I could only manage a 3 minutes run, instead of the 5 mins. I felt like giving up. I run on a treadmill and I've been going at 6.5km/HR, so I decided to drop it to 6km/HR and with vocal encouragement on the sidelines from my husband I managed the whole session! I guess I was trying to push myself too hard. I'm going to repeat W4 until I'm comfortable before I try W5. Onwards and upwards! 😊

The best thing about this journey is that it's Yours.... to complete it as you are happy with. Repeat a week or move on your choice, outside, Treadmill your choice...... the goal line hasn't moved it's still there waiting for you to cross..... just enjoy 😊😊

Well done.

Remember, the recommended pace is one at which you can speak clear ungasping sentences as you run, as explained in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Forget about numbers.

My issue is not with breathing, it's pain in my legs.

Slowing down reduces impact.

Make sure you stretch after every run.

I think you’ve learned the snail lesson! This is about duration, not speed or even distance, these last two can be worked on later. Just slow right down & you’ll build your stamina. Good luck!

Well done you ⭐️ This programme teaches you a lot about perseverance ! But always remember the First Rule of C25k: The only run you fail is the run you don’t go for ! Enjoy conquering week 4, and all the best for week 5 x

Great job... it’s amazing what a difference a slight drop in speed can make too. A repeat won’t harm and every run makes you stronger! Happy running.
