I got overtaken by a “runner” ( I’m more a shuffler!) just as The Cure ‘Why can’t I be you?’ Was on my playlist- it made me laugh!
Then as I entered the park some sort of giant running meet was occurring!?!? 🙈 I HATE having to “run” in front of anyone... not sure one person even noticed me! Ridiculous but it really affected me.
But I did it! Also, think I need new trainers, but scared of the gait thingy! 🙈🏃🏼♀️

You've nearly finished week 3 that's fantastic, think how many people you know who couldn't manage one minute of running. Since I started running ( slow jogging actually) I've got absolute respect for any one, any age , any shape or size who gets out and does it! You can do it!!
We all hated running publicly at first, but the more you want to do it the less other people will bother you. However bad you might look running (and you probably don’t look bad at all) you’d look worse slobbed out on the couch !
As to the gait analysis, why not ask around for friendly shops in your area ? Or for a local runner to go with you ? Safety in numbers 😄
That was me! Welll probably still is me. I managed to shuffle my way to graduation somehow. Haven’t done much since but am still chuffed that I can shuffle for 30 minutes🙂
I worried about the gait thingy too but we were in a running shop buying gloves and my husband went straight up & asked if they could check which trainers I should get. I would never have done it but actually, I only had to jog (as slowly as I wanted) for about 45 seconds then he'd show me the video, try on some trainers then do it again until I found the ones best for me. I think I did it about 4 times in total, so managed fine & that was at the end of week 3.
Runners are a broad church and if you visit a parkrun you will see people of literally all ages and fitness levels, being welcomed and included.......... you are a runner too.
Well done. Tough run, tougher runner... out of your comfort zones but running it anyway, great job.
Gait analysis is a little intimidating if you don’t like running in front of people, but the people in the running shops are used to us C25K guys now and so there’s no need to be worried... it may look like a place only athletes go, but the reality is quite the opposite... you’ll be fine!
