I don’t work wednesdays so thats always the day I start my new week. This morning it was icy and slippy outside, but now the sun Is shining and it’s glorious, so I got all ready and went for wk3 run1. But it was still icy and I was so nervous of slipping I only managed 1 x 3 mins and I gave up and came home. I know I have a tendency to be over emotional, but I really feel like I’ve let myself down. Should I have persevered? Have I given up too soon? It’s silly, but what if it stays icy for the week?

Lizzie you got up and gave it ago. And if it hadn't been icy I'm sure you would have completed today's run. You tried it's not a fail and you haven't let yourself down. Safety first is my rule esp where snow and ice is concerned so you did the right thing. Maybe if the weather warms up later and the ice disappears you can try again. Don't be so hard on urself. Good luck with your running. X

No you did great he tried it was not possible so you did the sensible thing and stopped. It’s just as hard to know when not to run as it is to run. I found it hard to take a next a rest day when I needed it but preventing injury is important. The run will keep ;-)

Can you do it at home at all? I just finished mine doing 8s between my room and the stairs landing, not the same as being outside but it's something.

Ice is the one thing most of us never ever run on...snow on the fields or grass fine..but not ice.

The ice will melt and the runs will wait.

Take care of you...xx

You’ve not let anybody down! Ice isn’t good to run on... I’d certainly take a week of not running over a couple of weeks (or more) not running because I slipped on ice and strained something. I think you made a wise decision. Can you find somewhere with grass to run as that doesn’t tend to be as big an issue when frozen.

Thank you everybody, I was a bit upset earlier, but reading all your comments has sorted me out! I’ll see how the weather is tomorrow, but I won’t worry if I can’t get out. Thank you all again 😊
