Can anyone give me advice for what to wear whilst running in this freezing weather? I’m on week 7 -2

Layers. I do have thermal leggings and tops and yesterday which was 0 degrees with a strong wind I had that on plus gloves and once I’d been running for 20 minutes I was fine. Even took my gloves off for last 5 minutes of a 35 minute run. But when I did C25K and wasn’t running for so long I’d wear two lighter layers and maybe a hat. You have to try different things until you figure out how quickly you warm up. 😊🏃🏻‍♀️

What about slipping? Tried to run but kept slipping! I guess it’s tricky and not much can be done 😐❤️

I try to run on surfaces that aren’t icy so yesterday I ran on grass next to the path but if it’s too bad I wait until later in the day. Being older I’m terrified of falling so I’m extra careful but if the weather gets really bad I just won’t go out and will have to do HIIT indoors on my bike instead. That’s my backup plan anyway. 😉

I nearly slipped twice and gave up! It’s not worth falling. It’s just a shame because it is going to set us back if it lasts! Good luck though x

It’s tricky in the winter but I take the view that I will get out when I can but stay safe. I’m lucky so far living by the sea means we get less cold weather but I’ve just checked weather for Saturdays Parkrun. Minus4. Chilly!! 🏃🏻‍♀️❄️

Yeah that’s it...just get out when you can...I can handle the rain or cold but ice is not ok! ❤️

I’m ok running in the cold but I struggle in the heat. Wanted to do park runs last summer but it was too hot by 9.00am for me to run. I was running at 5.00am instead 🤣

I think I might be the same. I tried running a couple of years ago but gave up as the weather warmed up. I’m hoping that this year will be different. I’m 21lbs lights and a whole lot fitter thanks to C25k. 😊🏃🏻‍♀️
