I can't believe it's week 3 already! Despite all my positive talk, I have to say I've been thinking about this one. Thought up all sorts of excuses not to do it... thought of even more reasons not to put it off.
I shouldn't have worried. Slow and steady won the race. During the first of the 3-minute runs, Laura said "only one minute to go" and I thought "just over a week ago, I could only run for one minute!".
Then my playlist delivered up "I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind Of Thing" and that was W3R1 conquered. Did the rest with a huge smile on my face.
Bring it on... the programme works and we can achieve amazing things!

Well done I just completed W3 R2 and really enjoyed it. I wasn’t so sure before I did the first one but it all went well. I was tired but recovered quite quickly . Good luck and keep it up 💪👍
Well done! What fab progress you are making, I hope you are very pleased with yourself. You must feel so much better for it too! So now you can definitely enjoy run 2 and 3
I'm delighted and a bit doubtful really. I've never stuck to an exercise programme for more than a few months before but never have I felt like this either.
I think it helps to forget failings of the past or more exactly not to dwell on them. I did try to start running maybe 6 years ago and didn’t persevere but I wasn’t in this head space and I didn’t have the support of this forum.
For you it’s clearly having such benefits as well as you’ve gone from totally sedentary to active. Face it, you are a runner now actually we are runners!
Well done Pianism . I am so glad (and relieved) that you are enjoying this running lark. I was utterly amazed that I liked it from day one (and still do, as you know). I avoided all sport at school, far too competitive for no good reason. But this Couch to 5k is wonderful.
I was out the other day and saw someone walking briskly, then running. I soon realised that she was doing week one. I wanted to go and encourage her but held back for fear of putting her off. I chatted to passers by in the park on my very first run, but I know others are more nervous than I was so I didn't want to scare her!
Thank you. I think I'd have been glad of a thumbs up during my first run/week, but I've retreated to somewhere absolutely deserted for my runs now so no chance of that. Will have to think of a new strategy when it starts to get lighter lol
But you will be so much more confident you won't care if anyone is watching. I can remember McFitty wouldn't leave her garden for the first few weeks, but the others on the forum slowly tempted her out to the world and she didn't look back.
