I went to UpNRunning in Birmingham yesterday to have my gait analysed and bought a decent pair of running shoes (I'd been running in a pair of standard Reebok trainers from sports direct up to this point). I got back from the first run of work 3 earlier and what a difference those shoes have made. It was still really tough and a little painful in places with my shins really hurting about halfway through. Thanks to the extra support the shoes give I've realised that I haven't been landing on the middle of my foot like I thought I was but more on the heel. When I started to correct this the pain soon went away and the running became slightly easier. Made me glad I made the investment. It's a shame running shoes are so expensive but the teachers discount made it slightly more tolerable!

Shoe porn! I like them... I may need to shop again!
They’re expensive but when you think how many runs they’ll do they’re pretty good value... they’re very cheap per mile... my daughter is putting a pound in a jar for every mile she runs... sadly these are my pounds... but she’s not going to cost me all in one go next time she buys a pair!
Sounds like a great run and the pain is figured out. Happy running.
