W7 completed!

I can’t believe there are only two weeks left and the final two weeks look doable. It also looks as though I will also complete within the two month target I originally set but I have so far been rather lucky with the weather, illness etc.

My approach has been rather low-tech compared with some of my fellow runners - no fitbit or even a running app so I am unable to share heart rates and split times. However I do measure the route on a map (as I prefer circular routes and want to avoid being more than a 5 minute brisk walk at the end of the run) so l do know that my current speed over 25 minutes is 8.6 kph (7 min/km) so somewhat short of what is required for 5K in 30. Another confession (?) is that I still haven’t got around to getting some proper running shoes and am still using my trusty old trainers - perhaps I will treat myself this week!

W8 starts on Monday!

I’m on week 7 and still in my knackered old trainers too, but I’m going at less than half your speed so mine should last twice as long 😄

Nice to know I am not the only one! Good luck with the rest of W7. On paper it is the hardest week but wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

First run was ok, second run was mean and unfriendly. Hoping run 3 will be kinder 😄

30 minutes is all that counts here... very few reach 5k in the plan... 35 minutes would be quick for us guys just a couple of months off the couch. Great job.

After reading the various posts since I started I now appreciate that but there is power in a title! At least it means there is another potential target once W9 is done and dusted. 🙂
